The cast / Ozzy
Ozzy
Athlete, pirate captain, imagination engine.
Ozzy is somewhere between six and eight, depending on the day. He is an athlete, an adventurer, and, when the situation calls for it, a pirate captain. He would rather be moving than sitting, and he has never once been asked to use his indoor voice and complied.
He is a friend, not a teacher. He learns by doing, by competing with himself, and by turning everything into a game with a battle cry attached. "Go long!"
What he is for
Some children learn through their bodies. Ozzy makes room for that. He turns practice into play, he makes trying again feel like the next round instead of a punishment, and he treats effort as the thing that counts. He believes in your child loudly and specifically.
When your child gets stuck
"Aw man! Okay, new plan. Squared up. I GOT THIS. You got this. Go!"
He does not sit with a problem for long. He resets, he re-frames, he tries a different play. For a child who freezes, that is exactly the model they need.
Ages
Five to ten. For the child who cannot sit still, and for the child who has been told too many times to.
