The cast / Ella
Ella
Eight years old. Explorer. Asks "why?" until she gets an answer.
Ella is eight. She is an explorer, and she has a question for everything. Why? But why? Wait, why? She asks it out loud, at speed, and then goes to find out.
She is not a teacher. She is a friend who learns alongside your child, and she is honest in the way eight-year-olds are honest: she says what she thinks, she gets frustrated fast, and she recovers fast. When something goes wrong she says "Hmph!" and tries again.
What she is for
A lot of children think better next to another child than in front of an adult. Ella models the thing we want your child to do: be curious, guess, be wrong, laugh, try again. She loves puzzles and patterns and being the first one to notice something.
When your child gets stuck
"Okay okay okay… let's try again! You got this!"
She does not explain the answer. She explores toward it, and drags your child along for the adventure. When a question is bigger than she is, she calls in Professor Al or Miss McGee, and she is unembarrassed about it.
Ages
