The things parents ask before they hand over the tablet.
If your question is not here, write to us. A person reads every message, and if it is a question other parents would have too, it ends up on this page.
Questions parents ask
Short answers here. If yours isn’t, write to us; a person reads every message.
Yes. The School Planet is free for every family. There are no ads, nothing is sold inside it, and nothing about your child is sold to anyone.
Toddlers through about twelve today. Gus is there for the very youngest, the friends cover roughly five to ten, and the four teachers work with children from four to twelve. Every character adjusts their language to the age you enter when you add your child.
They talk with a teacher, out loud or by typing. They practice the sounds inside words. They hear stories. When a question belongs to a different teacher, the class passes it along, the way a real school would, and your child sees who they are talking to at every moment.
No. A web browser on a tablet, laptop, or phone is enough. A microphone lets your child talk instead of type, and you can turn that permission on or off at any time.
Never stored. Speech is turned into text so the teacher can answer, and the audio is discarded in the same moment. What remains is a text transcript you can read on the family page.
With your permission, a character keeps a few short notes between sessions: a favorite topic, what your child was working on, an inside joke. It is off by default. You can read every note and erase all of them from the family page whenever you like.
Yes. The family page shows what was practiced, how it went, and the text of each conversation. Only a parent can see it. A child is never visible to any other user.
Reading comes first, with a short daily routine in phonemic awareness, the skill of hearing and playing with the sounds inside words. The other subjects grow around it. Prodigee is built to sit alongside school and to catch a child that school is moving past, not to replace a classroom.
Elemental Genius LLC, a small company founded by Rob Muhs. The teachers’ classroom practice was written with friends who have spent more than twenty years teaching real children in real classrooms.
Launch Prodigee, create a parent account, add your child, choose which permissions to grant, and hand over the tablet. It takes about a minute.
