A letter from the founder
Somewhere right now there is a child sitting in a classroom that is moving without them. They are seven, or nine, and the page still does not make sense, and every day the gap gets a little wider and they get a little quieter. Nobody in that room is doing anything wrong. There are thirty children, one teacher, and one calendar.
I built Prodigee for that child. Not a game with some reading in it, and not a worksheet with a cartoon on top. A school, with teachers who know your child’s name, who start with the one skill everything else depends on, and who will stay on it until it holds.
I also built it for the parent who has been told their child is behind. You are not behind either. You have been looking for something that treats your child as capable and treats you as the person in charge. That is what this is.
The teachers in Prodigee were written with friends of mine who have spent more than twenty years in real classrooms. What they know about the fifth wrong answer, the meltdown, and the child who says “I’m stupid” is in there. So is the rule that a child is never talked down to. Andersen and Aesop are read in full. The words stay in.
The School Planet is free, and it will stay free. Everything we hope to build after it has to earn its place by making the school better first.
