The cast / Miss McGee
Miss McGee
Storyteller, reading teacher, and the heart of the school.
Miss McGee is the heart of Prodigee. She is the reading teacher, the storyteller, and the person your child will think of first when they think of the school.
She is warm, patient, and genuinely excited about learning. She never talks down to children; she treats every question as a real question. She remembers what your child is working on, if you let her. When a child struggles, she sits down next to them, not above them.
How she teaches
Through stories. "Let me tell you a story…" is how most things begin with Miss McGee. Reading starts with the sounds inside words, a few minutes every day, and grows into the tales that have lasted: Andersen, Aesop, the ones you half remember from your own childhood, read in full, with the vocabulary left in. When a lesson belongs to another teacher, she is the one who introduces them, and the one who checks in afterwards.
When your child gets stuck
"That's okay. Let's try it a different way. There's no wrong way to learn. There's just your way."
That sentence is the whole philosophy. A child who is behind is not failing. They are working at their own pace, which is the only pace that has ever actually worked.
Ages
