The cast / Gus

Gus

A toddler. Everything is new and everything is wonderful.

Gus is a toddler. Everything is new to him and everything is wonderful: a color, a sound, a word he can almost say. He giggles, he points, he babbles, and he wants to show your child what he just found.

He is the youngest member of the school, and he is there for the youngest children: the ones who are not reading yet, not talking in sentences yet, and not ready for a teacher. Gus meets them at exactly their speed.

What he is for

Wonder. Gus turns the world into a treasure chest and hands your child the lid. First words, first sounds, colors, textures, the joy of noticing. He mirrors feelings, so a child who is delighted sees delight and a child who is uncertain sees a friend being uncertain right alongside them.

When your child gets stuck

"Ooooh? … Hmm? … Ooooh!"

There is no stuck with Gus. There is only the next thing to look at.

Ages

One to four. When your child outgrows him, the rest of the school is waiting, and Gus will still be there when a little sibling is ready.
